What is Color Guard?
Color Guard
and
Indoor Guard
The Color Guard
really puts the Color in the Marching Band and is an intrinsic part of the
fall marching program. This group combines dance, drama, and performance -
from the synchronization of colorful flags, to masterful skills of rifle and
saber handling, the Guard adds that needed visual punch to every show. The
Indoor Guard performs in the winter and spring seasons at a number of
competitions and performances. The RV Indoor Guard was the TIA
Chapter I Scholastic Novice Champions for the 2007 season. This exciting group is
under the direction of Kelly Pruden and Billy O’Brien.

GUARD PRACTICE
SCHEDULE CHANGE*
Beginning next week, the RV Guard will no
longer be practicing on Monday evenings. With the onset of
Adult School and no foreseeable may around the gym issue
that night, we will be begin rehearsing on Thursday
evenings. We understand there will be a transition time for
some as you get your schedules ironed out. This change was
made so we can keep the program alive this season. Trying
to practice Mondays with no adequate practice space is next
to impossible.
*
GUARD - I know this season has been frustrating with the
last-minute changes. I am not happy about it and know the
inconvenience it causes many of you and the staff. Please
do everything in your power to work it out. If you can't,
jmake sure you keep the lines of communication open with me
and the staff so we are "in the know" and can work
together. Thank you!
SUNDAY PRACTICES
We will likely be adding a handful of Sunday
afternoon practices. Right now, March 16 & April 6 are most
probable and possibly April 13. These would be
from 12-4pm. I'll have another update this week addressing
and confirming this.
THANKS EVERYONE! Here's to 2008!
