About the RVRHS Jazz Band

The Jazz Band, or "The RV Big Band" as they are affectionately known, as is one of the favorite ensembles among the students and is a select group of musicians chosen through audition.  This group studies, rehearses and performs all styles of jazz, big band style to contemporary, with a special emphasis on developing improvisation skills and soloing ability. Each year, the jazz band performs "gigs" for the school and throughout the community. In 2007, the RV Big Band was under the direction of Mr. David Britton and Mr. Rob Stein.  This group also competes during their season, and has won several awards.
