2008 RVRHS INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC BOOSTER SCHOLARSHIP
The RVRHS Instrumental Music Boosters are pleased to announce that, for the tenth year, we will be awarding four (4) $500 scholarships to senior students in recognition of their outstanding commitment to the RV Instrumental Music Programs. Students interested in applying for the scholarship must submit their completed application and essay to the guidance office no later than MARCH 18, 2008.
Eligibility:
You must
also have been a paid Music Booster
Member during each active year of
participation in the instrumental music
programs.
You must
have a minimum of 2 years of
participation in any of the instrumental
music programs. These two years do not
need to be consecutive.
All
financial obligations to the
Instrumental Music Boosters must be
satisfied by the date of application.
(Retroactive dues from freshman year
through junior year will not be
accepted.)
Lastly,
you must have participated in a minimum
of one Music Booster fundraiser for each year of active membership.
Example: If you participated in Marching Band for 3 years, you must have participated in a total of at least 3 fundraisers over the three year period.
Application requirements:
You must complete the two-part application consisting of:
Part One: Application form.
Part Two: A well written essay of 500 words or less in which you detail the following 3 content areas:
1. What your instrumental music program experience has meant to you.
2. What you gained from this experience.
3. How this experience might relate to your future.
IMPORTANT: Please DO NOT refer to yourself by name or any other specific identifier in the content of this essay, as it will be judged anonymously to ensure objectivity. Example: It is okay to say you were a section leader. It is NOT okay to say you were the flute section leader.
Your essay must be typed on a separate sheet of paper and attached to your application form.
